As the sparkling colors of butterfly wings, the paintings of Lise
ROBIN are
seemingly cryptic, explosive, vibrant with color, mysterious tracings,
all
is ordered according to a plan that seems to exceed the artist¹s
intention.
Her art imposes on our sensitivy and opens to the surreal.
The light of stained glass windows, the patience of a tapestry,
byzantine
luxury, the art of enamel, oriental calligraphy in which one looks for
the
symbolism, these are sources of the artist¹s inspiration without
having
these constituent elements, evidently non calculated, doubting the
authenticity of her gesture.
What hidden source, what impulse does this art ? That is at once both
chatoyant and deep, draw from ? Undoubtedly, Lise ROBIN herself does
not
know, and this is perhaps what gives her works such originality.
A sovereign response to a call obscure.
