Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, 06. 03. 1943

What I have in mind in my work is the image of Studlar or Basalt Columns which are so common in my countries nature and that Richard Serra used in his Afangar work Videy Island north of Reykjavik and the dramatic nature of Iceland with its lava-fields and its waste deserts and the fire deep into the earth and the spring and summer we all look forward to after a long and dark winter with its bluish and yellowish and reddish colours.

Of the tiny flowers and the constant struggle to survive.
