From Hohenrain to expositions in Zurich, Luzern, Zug, Genéve, New York, Shanghai, Beijing, Berlin, Hamburg, Luxemburg, Miami...etc. Typical twin I would say.
The artist WALT (Walter Kaufmann) was born in 25.05.1944 in the zodiac symbol of the twins. WALT is married and has four children.

DEVELOPMENT

The artist has been drawing and painting since his early youth. In his professional career he has not taken the artistic path. WALT was active in the private business world where he had been a leader in logistics for 22 years, leading a distribution platform at Migros with 450 employees. The art accompanied him his entire life. WALT has begun to paint intensively in the year 1990 – at the start of his first exhibition. He had developed and sophisticated his artistic abilities as a self-educated person, taking courses and workshops with painters and sculptors. Since his retirement in the year 2005, WALT established a studio for paintings and sculpture in a former cheese-production facility.

On the homepage www.walt-art.ch you can find all the details about WALT and a selection of his artistic expression. Clown’s and caricatures are a trade-mark of WALT. There his feelings and frame of mind become apparent. On the other hand, the artistic creation of WALT represents a search in stylistic varieties. His paintings are hardly ever completely abstract. There are indications what the artist wants to express. The different phases are characterized by lyrical-concrete and unconventional-abstract paintings. The selection team of an international art gallery writes the following after seeing his artistic works: “The colorful works gave us the impression of seeing abstract compositions in realistic spaces. This interaction of abstractions has convinced us - or how one member of the jury expressed it: defamiliarization – where you can find again and again realistic composites (especially in the 3D work)”.

People and particularly women are shown in formal-concrete way or in figurative-abstract ways. In searching for Art trends, WALT learned also to understand the expressive value of infantile paintings. We can all wait eagerly for the up-coming experimental phases of the artist. Walt was recorded on a request from a Gallery in Germany as an artist. Since then he made expositions with Artodrome. And Mr Kunkler, Gallery Artodrome Berlin/Beijing says: Walt’s paintings are settled between figurative and abstract art and seem to achieve a well thought – out interplay between those two poles. The fact that Picasso is one of his favorite masters cannot be overlocked, though his art is , of course, singular in itself. Walt unifies abstract and figurative elements an creates a harmonieus whole by working into abstract parts figurative associations. He focuses on man and uses unique compositions of color contrasts in his 3-D pictures. He has exhibited his works in Germany, in the USA, in China with Gallery Artodrome.
